Household Manners Level I Dog and Puppy Training Class

This is THE class to teach your dog or puppy practical behaviors for every day use. It establishes the behavioral tools you need to control your dog in all situations. In addition to learning how to sit, lie down, and stay, we also teach a "leave it" command so the coffee table is a safe place to leave your sandwich, and an "easy" command so the dog won't pull on leash. Your dog will learn how to sit when approached by a friend instead of jumping on them, "wait" at the front door instead of barging out, "come" even in distracting surroundings, and much more! But beyond even that, the real advantage of Positive Approach is that we are the only program that focuses on the PROCESS of learning, so you will leave knowing how to train your dog to do ANYTHING you want in the future! We Speak Dog ... and now you can too! Open to both puppies and adult dogs.

Enrollment includes: 9 hours of class instruction (including a 2-hour behavioral seminar), two training manuals, a "clicker" training tool, weekly instruction handouts, a small class size of up to 10 dogs, with 2 instructors per class, and one year of follow up opportunities (you may drop in to repeat individual lessons on a space available basis for one year following graduation from your registered course).

The first class is a two-hour lecture for all dogs. For the rest of the course, dogs will be split into one of two class times, according to age. This lecture is aimed at humans. Quiet dogs are welcome and encouraged to attend the first-night seminar. Dogs with more to say will do better to wait until the next lesson.
