Dog Daycare PoliciesThe purpose of Positive Approach's day care service is to provide quality supervision for your dog in an atmosphere that will allow the dog to develop and continue to use appropriate social skills with other dogs. This also provides the dog with the exercise required to behave properly in a human household. You will find that after coming to day care one to three times per week, your dog's behavior will be improved in your home environment. Your dog will be less hyper and unruly, able to pay better attention during training sessions, and will be well adjusted to new dogs that they may encounter in their daily lives. Some dogs are already very well adjusted to new dogs and fit in to the day care's play sessions very easily. Other dogs may be fairly shy and hesitant at first and may require several visits before initiating play with other dogs. Each dog's personality is assessed by our staff and is allowed to proceed at their own pace. To ensure that coming to day care becomes and remains a fun experience for your dog, the first time they are brought in, they must be dropped off between 6:30 am and 7:00 AM. This will allow them to be one of the first arrivals at the facility and they can then be the "resident dog" to greet each dog arriving after them. After your first visit, you are welcome to drop your dog off at any time. The day care is intended as a playgroup for well socialized dogs and as a learning experience for mildly shy dogs. It is not the place to work on problem dog behavior. Any animals with temperament problems will not be admitted. If your dog has not been through any training classes at Positive Approach, we will require him or her to come in for an evaluation prior to coming to day care. There is no charge for this evaluation. Evaluations are by appointment only. If you would like to schedule your dog for a day of playtime, please complete the application on the following pages and return it prior to bringing your dog in. Carefully read the accompanying rules and regulations and complete the signature portions. We look forward to having your dog with us! Please call if you have any further questions.
