WE’RE PROFESSIONAL - With Positive Approach you have access to some of the most experienced trainers in the area. We are the only company in the area that requires all of our instructors to carry the title of Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT). Individuals must meet strict experience criteria and pass a lengthy proctored exam to achieve this prestigious title. Overall we have 18 knowledgeable, skilled, and friendly dog lovers on staff. Our 6,000 square foot facility provides your dog with large, matted training areas and an expansive indoor / outdoor play area.
WE’RE CONVENIENT - Our dog training classes are available Monday through Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. If you miss a class due to illness or vacation it is easy to make it up on a different night! We're located in Tacoma , near Federal Way and Puyallup.
WE'RE POSITIVE! - Our dog and puppy training classes give you great results using the easiest most up to date dog training methods. We never use choke chains, pinch collars, or any physical correction or punishment on our dogs or puppies. We treat all of our dog and puppy visitors as if they were our own.
Puppy Workshops This comprehensive two-hour puppy workshop is your ticket to a bomb-proof puppy! It covers common problems such as housebreaking, mouthing (puppy biting), destructive behavior, attention getting techniques and how to control the hyper or rowdy puppy. This workshop will also include one of the most vital beginning steps for your puppy.... socialization! Your pup will get the opportunity to play and interact with other puppies during the course of the workshop while we give a running dialog on each puppy's behavior.

Household Manners Level I This is THE class to teach your dog practical behaviors for every day use. The real advantage of Positive Approach is that we are the only program that focuses on the PROCESS of learning, so you will leave knowing how to train your dog to do ANYTHING you want in the future! Household Manners Level II This class builds upon the behaviors developed in the Level I class. New skills include off leash control, control at a distance, and working with increased distractions. The use of agility equipment and trick training make the development of these skills a fun process! We will prepare for, and then take the Canine Good Citizen test in this course. Sports and Tricks Sampler Our Sports and Tricks Sampler class introduces dogs and owners to all the equipment and obstacles used for a variety of different sports and tricks! You gain a better working relationship with your dog while you learn techniques and tools for flyball, dancing with dogs, agility, tricks, and much, much more!

Small Dog Confidence Classes Do you have a small sized dog? Then this class is for you! This class will help build small dog confidence in a big dog world. Activities include- training exercises that build trust and self-esteem, fun games that build confidence and self-assurance, and "big dog meet-n-greet" to help overcome that little dog syndrome.

Positive Pit Bull Classes This class helps Pit Bull owners and dogs alike have a solid, positive, respectful relationship. Activities include- leadership exercises, basic training commands, management and trust exercises. You won't feel out of place in this class where EVERYONE has a Bully Breed!
